Amelia Siders, Ph.D., is a Michigan Limited License Psychologist. Dr. Sidersí supervisor is Wayne R. Hill, Ph.D., the founding member of Management and Behavioral Consultants. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan and completed her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, California. She completed extensive training in the evaluation of learning and behavioral disorders with Drs. Nadeen and Alan Kaufman, authors of several cognitive and achievement tests, numerous books, and publications. Dr. Siders also completed specialized training in neurocognitive rehabilitation at the Big Spring State Hospital in Big Spring, Texas. Prior to moving to Traverse City, Dr. Siders was the Clinical Director for Focus Healthcare of Ohio, an inpatient addiction treatment program. She has been working in the mental health field since 1994.
Currently, Dr. Siders is an adjunct faculty member at Spring Arbor University for the Masters in Counseling Program and the Clinical Director of the Fetal Alcohol and Trauma Assessment Center in Traverse City, MI. She is a member of the Michigan Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. Dr. Siders lectures at universities, hospitals, and Community Health Agencies on topics related to ADHD, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Substance Abuse Treatment, Dual Diagnosis, and School Advocacy for Children with Special Needs.
Dr. Siders specializes in assessment, treatment, and advocacy for people with emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. She has worked extensively with individuals and families that are diagnosed with or affected by Aspergerís Disorder. Dr. Siders conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations that include cognitive, achievement, neuropsychological screening measures, and objective and projective personality tests. These evaluations are requested for learning disability assessments, court evaluations, fitness for duty assessments, and for diagnosis of psychiatric disorders. Once the evaluation is completed, Dr. Siders can work as an advocate in the school or work setting or may consult with your physician to get you the most effective care.
